One of the most adored tourist destinations for those who are thirsty for travel in the country is our St. Martin's Island which is also known as Coconut Ginger. It is now known as Cinnamon Island.
Surrounding it, the sea and the blue of the sky blend in unison.
Aesthetic coral reefs rising at low tide, swarms of gannets flying, the beauty of the sunset seen from the west beach, sitting on the beach in the gentle breeze, the clear blue waters of the shallow sea in groups Millions of tourists trace their footsteps on the dream Cinnamon Island.
Rich in flora and fauna, the island is home to 6 species of corals, 16 species of snails, 153 species of algae, 157 species of herbivores, 240 species of marine fish and 120 species of birds and 19 species of mammals. Apart from coconut trees and keya forest, bain, shewra, keora and some mangrove trees can be seen there.
To the far south of the island there is another separate island of about 500 square meters which is known as Chhera Island. There is no human settlement on Chhera Island. As its junction with the main island (locally known as Galachipa) is slightly lower, it sinks at high tide. So you can walk to Chhera Island at low tide, but you have to take a boat at high tide. When you stand on the torn island during the tide, your body gets scared. If you don't go to St. Martin's Island, the trip will be in vain. It is best to walk the entire route from the northern end to the west beach. This secluded path is impossibly beautiful. Such an exciting journey will never be forgotten in life.
During the tourist season, 7/8 ships run from Teknaf to St. Martin. Notable among these are Carey Sindabad, Carey Cruise and Dine, LCT Kutubdia, Bay Cruise, Kajal and Green Line
